Food Service

• The food industry is the second largest industry after the federal government.
• Long-term employment opportunities can be found in school cafeterias, hospitals, nursing facilities, supermarkets, and restaurants.
• Students will develop a practical understanding of basic sanitation, food handling, and food preparation procedures needed to secure and maintain employment in the food service industry.
• Food produced on the property will be made into marketable food items and sold to Northern Virginia restaurants and in local farmers’ markets. Proceeds will help fund this program.
